The Ministry of Business and Made in Italy – General Directorate for Industrial Property – Italian Patent and Trademark Office has renewed its support for the IRST Innovation Hub project by allocating new funding through the latest public call. This renewed commitment ensures the project's operational continuity and enables it to contribute to the Ministry’s strategic objective of strengthening Technology Transfer Offices (UTTs) within the national research system, thereby enhancing the effectiveness and quality of technology transfer to the productive sector.
UTT is expected to carry out the following activities:
• Planning and delivering dissemination and outreach initiatives, including training sessions for research staff and promotional activities showcasing IRST assets;
• Developing and implementing a comprehensive communication and dissemination strategy;
• Producing targeted materials to effectively communicate project outcomes;
• Promoting and encouraging the use of the Knowledge Share platform to expand its reach and adoption;
• Facilitating the exchange of expertise among research centers, enterprises, and “young” stakeholders involved in Research and Innovation;
• Providing expertise in copyright and intellectual property protection;
• Supporting and incentivizing researchers to submit competitive scientific proposals, in collaboration with the grant office, and establishing direct links with companies interested in co-developing industrializable innovations;
• Assisting researchers in the recognition and protection of valuable scientific discoveries;
• Identifying and implementing appropriate tools to support business activities within co-development frameworks.
IIH aims to foster and structure the entire process of scientific discoveries’ valorization by building a strong bridge between research and industry. It seeks to generate collaboration opportunities with enterprises, promote greater awareness, and encourage the effective use of intellectual property tools. Furthermore, IIH is actively promoting the Knowledge Share platform among industry stakeholders to improve access to and engagement with research outputs.
