During that time the PI has carried out several research projects on the role of new molecular biomarkers for the early diagnosis and prognosis of cancer and won several award for her research projects and presentations (the last award was from OECI (Organization of European Cancer Institutes) Meeting Bursary Award may 2016 Amsterdam). She is the coordinator of the Gerobiomics and Exposomics group at IRST and she has wide-ranging experience in the study of breast and cervical cancer biomarkers both in the Caucasian and in the Tanzanian populations (in particular by using Molecular Pathology techniques). She studies the inflammation at tissue and systemic level with the aim of identifying new biomarkers for diagnosis, prognosis and to predict the response to drugs.
